Healing from Narcissistic Abuse
Healing from Narcissistic Abuse is a guidebook for anyone who has experienced a manipulative or an abusive relationship, whether with a partner, family member, colleague, or friend.
I wrote this book because I didn’t want others to go through this experience alone. I wanted to share what I had learned, and create something meaningful from one of the most challenging experiences of my life.
Through personal stories and practical exercises, the book explores narcissistic abuse alongside codependency, insecure attachment, people-pleasing, and the patterns that can lead us to abandon ourselves.
Throughout the book, clinical psychotherapist Claudia Cauterucci, LPC, offers psychological insights and professional commentary.
My hope is that this book becomes part of your own transformative journey, and that the lessons and tools within these pages prove as valuable to you as they have been to me.
Why is this book different?
When I started writing this book, I wanted it to be different. I didn't want to write just another book about narcissistic abuse.
I wanted to write something intimate, helping the readers feel seen, heard, and understood.
There is something powerful about recognising ourselves in another person's story, and realising that we are not alone in what we've experienced.
My own healing took years of learning, reflection, and gathering information from different places.
I wanted to bring what helped me together in one book and share what I learned along the way.
I hope that this book helps others understand their experiences, reclaim their agency, and know that healing, freedom, and joy are possible.
The Book is Divided into Four Parts:
-
The book begins with my own journey through a five-year relationship with someone with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD).
I share the experiences that led me to question what was happening, begin searching for answers, and eventually understand the relationship I had been living in.
-
Understanding NPD was one of the first steps in my healing.
Throughout the book, personal narratives are paired with psychological explanations, alongside professional insights from clinical psychotherapist Claudia Cauterucci, LPC.
-
Understanding the other person is only one part of the journey.
I also had to turn the focus inward and ask why I had remained in these dynamics and what patterns within me needed attention.
Taking responsibility for our own choices gives us back a sense of agency.
This section helps readers understand the wounds, beliefs, and patterns that keep them stuck, and what could be changed moving forward.
-
Once I understood what had happened and began recognising my own patterns, I could start making different choices.
This part focuses on rebuilding self-trust, reconnecting with yourself, and making the changes necessary to create a different trajectory for your life.
-
Each chapter ends with reflective exercises and insightful quotes designed to help you apply what you're reading to your own life.
In that sense, Healing from Narcissistic Abuse is not only a book to read, it's also a workbook to reflect on, write in, and return to throughout your own journey.
In the Media
In this interview, I share the story behind my book and explain the realities of narcissistic abuse.
We also discuss the role of awareness, self-leadership, and personal transformation in the healing journey.

— Amazon Customer“Shocking and insightful. Co-authorship is very well done, enabling one to see the pattern unfold from both the victim's and professional's perspective. Includes informative red flags to watch out for.”
